Using the Accounts Receivable Transaction Grid

The Accounts Receivable transaction grid can be customized to display any combination of transactions that are available. You can edit, post, and void transactions from this grid. If needed, you can expand any item in the grid to view the invoices receiving distribution. The currency columns display totals at the bottom of the grid.

Notes

  • Imported payments display "Import" in the Payment Method column. Other imported transaction types do not display "Import" in this column.
  • Electronic payments added automatically display "ePay" in the Payment Method column.

To use the Accounts Receivable Transaction grid, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then select AR transactions under Accounts Receivable. The transaction grid appears in the bottom half of the Accounts Receivable window.
  2. ClosedLocate the record or records you want to work with.
    • Filter the transaction list. Click the filter button above the grid to change the filters, if needed. After selecting new filters, click Apply. When you have filters applied, a number displays on the filter button indicating the number of filters applied. Your filters will be retained across sessions until you remove them. To remove filters, click Reset.
    • You can also filter the list by individual columns. Click in a column header and select the value for the filtering criteria. Click the x next to a column filter to remove the filter from the column.

Note: You can also set filtering criteria by clicking in a column header and then selecting Filter.

    • Sort the columns.

Click in a column header and select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending. The headers for sorted columns have a green border and display an arrow that indicates the sort direction. You might need to increase the column width to view the sort arrow. You can sort on multiple columns. The sort is determined by the order you apply the sorts. For example, if you sort the Client ID column and then sort the Entry Type column, the list will be sorted by client ID and then by entry type. If you do not want to sort on multiple columns, be sure to clear the previous sort.

  3. To work with a single transaction, select an option from the Actions menu for that transaction. To work with multiple transactions at one time, select the check boxes for those transactions, and then select an option from the Batch Actions menu. You can edit, post, and void transactions from this grid, among other tasks.

Note: Unless noted otherwise, your filters, column selections, column sizing, and sort settings are retained when you exit and reopen Practice.
